Boutique apartment living, in a quiet street 150m from Leederville Train Station is what this apartment project had to offer. At only 410sqm the site was zoned R-40 and was not subdividable but had approval to allow for 4 apartments.

With the site facing North it was decided that a central stair with entries from the street and car park best accommodate all units presenting to the street with access to winter sun. Two single bed apartments were designed on the ground floor due to the limited buildable area, reduced due to carparking and maneuvering requirements. The upper floor houses two, two-bedroom, 2 bathroom apartments each with large balconies with a BBQ recess. The upper floor apartments had feature raked ceilings to increase the sense of light and space in the balcony and open plan kitchen, dining, living area.

White kitchens increase the sense of space in the apartments while the economical blackbutt laminated flooring added warmth and character to the units without breaking the bank. The overall outcome of this project was 4 highly functional apartments with a symmetry that presented beautifully to the street – only the 4 letter boxes at the front hinting to all that is hidden inside.
